Description:

Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten provider.

School Hours:

Monday through Friday 7:00am - 6:00pmThe Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program - or VPK - is a free prekindergarten program for 4-year-olds who reside in Florida and were born on or before Sept. 1 each year. VPK gives each child an opportunity to perform better in school and throughout life with quality programs that include age-appropriate curricula with a strong emphasis on early literacy skills, accountability, manageable class sizes and qualified instructors.

Whether you want to apply for school readiness child care services, enroll in VPK or get information about other early education resources, the place to start is with your local early learning coalitionRegistration does not guarantee a VPK slot.

Once a school site is full applicants will be considered for the next site noted on the application until all sites are filled.

Registration Steps:

Step 1. Get Certificate of Eligibility (voucher) from the Early Learning Coalition.

Voucher number is required in order to complete the VPK application.

Parents must pre-register online and will receive their issued Certificate via email.

To receive a VPK Certificate of Eligibility from the Early Learning Coalition parents must complete an online application and upload required documents at https://familyservices.floridaearlylearning.com/.

Or visit the Community Coordinated Care for Children (4C) Office located at 2220 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway Unit #7 Kissimmee, FL 34744 Phone: (321) 219-6300, Monday - Friday (8:00a.m. - 4:30p.m.)

Step 2. Apply online for a VPK seat at one of the School District of your County.

In response to the high demand for VPK slots, please note that the application period will be earlier than previously posted in order to better serve their community.

Public Pre K Programs Include:
Early Head Start
For Ages birth to 5 years old. Families must meet poverty guidelines. Children from families receiving public assistance such as TANF, SSI are automatically eligible.

Early Head Start programs provide different needs dependent on the area where they are located. Most are based in centers and schools. Programs also can be home-based.

Head Start Programs
Head Start is provided by the US Department of Health and Human Services. Enrollment ages is between 3 and 4 years old. If child is 3 years old prior to Sept 1, they are eligible to apply.

Families must meet poverty guidelines. Children from families receiving public assistance such as TANF, SSI are automatically eligible.

VPK Programs
VPK Program is a free prekindergarten program for children aged 4 to 5 years old in Florida. Most States have free programs for prekindergarten. We list these locations on PublicPrek.com.
