Description: BCMW Head Start's engages and prepares low income children and families for success in school and throughout life by providing opportunities, experiences, resources and advocacy. They respect all individuals and believe they deserve a chance to reach their full potential.

Center Base Option: provides a half day classroom experience for 17 - 20 children, 4 days (Monday through Thursday) per week or a full day classroom for 15 - 20 children, 5 days (Monday through Friday). Each half day Double Session classroom is staffed with a Teacher, Assistant Teacher and Classroom Aide; Full day Single Session classroom is staffed with a Teacher, Assistant Teacher and Classroom Aide.
In addition, Bus Monitors are assigned to each bus.
Two home visits and two parent-teacher conferences are held each school year.
The daily schedule provides for meals and snacks, outdoor activities, circle, group, naps and individual times, as well as a balance between child choices and teacher directed activities.

Public Pre K Programs Include:
Early Head Start
For Ages birth to 5 years old. Families must meet poverty guidelines. Children from families receiving public assistance such as TANF, SSI are automatically eligible.

Early Head Start programs provide different needs dependent on the area where they are located. Most are based in centers and schools. Programs also can be home-based.

Head Start Programs
Head Start is provided by the US Department of Health and Human Services. Enrollment ages is between 3 and 4 years old. If child is 3 years old prior to Sept 1, they are eligible to apply.

Families must meet poverty guidelines. Children from families receiving public assistance such as TANF, SSI are automatically eligible.

VPK Programs
VPK Program is a free prekindergarten program for children aged 4 to 5 years old in Florida. Most States have free programs for prekindergarten. We list these locations on PublicPrek.com.
